What are surface protectors?
Surface protectors are typically used by professional painters, movers, developers or home owners. They are a step above your average kraft paper or drop cloths with advanced technology to prevent moisture from getting through to the surfaces beneath the protective barrier. Surface Protectors can also prevent minor dents and serious messes. There are products durable enough to use as exterior surface protectors as well as interior surface protectors. Koruser is our surface protector with a self adhesive underside allowing for vertical applications without leaving any residue like some of our competitors. Some avid gardeners have asked if they could use Jona Guard surface protector in their garden. We do not recommend this as it contains a nylon scrim and an advanced coating to prevent moisture from seeping into the product. Jona Guard will not break down like your average cardboard which makes it perfect for re-use and protecting surfaces like hardwood flooring during messy renovations or paint projects.
How to use your surface protectors and keep reusing them!
Jona Guard and Koruser are ideal for reuse. To maintain the integrity of the surface protector be sure to wipe up any moisture or mud as soon as you notice them. Just using a paper towel or microfibre cloth will be enough to ensure the moisture is removed and you can fold or re-roll your surface protector for later use. Of course, if the surface protector is penetrated by sharp objects it will not be as effective against prevent moisture leakage but would be suitable for outdoor spaces like a green house to prevent mud.
